Our Mission

The mission of the Wells Bayou Youth Development, Inc., is to provide social, emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, enrichment programs, outreach programs, and development of youth and families of the Delta Region, and to teach them community pride, civic involvement, and a love for learning and hard work.  The principles of the organization shall stress personal responsibility for community and personal improvement, promote community involvement in designing and putting in place programs that will target disadvantaged youth and families.


Tobacco prevention programs which reduce tobacco related health burdens in the state of Arkansas. These programs are funded by the Minority Initiative Sub-Recipient Grant Office (MISRGO) at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB).

The Summer Enrichment for Youth and Families is designed to provide at risk youth and families with a highly structured environment for youth and families who are in need of services to effectively modify their lifestyles, build confidence, and maintain physical activity.

The Education Program is designed to increase the quality of life for children and families of the Delta Region by providing mentoring, tutoring, and parenting skills for at risk youth and families.

The Outreach Program is designed to promote and implement life skills for those who are transitioning from welfare to work. This program is a joint effort between area churches/businesses that seeks to encourage, equip, and employ individuals within the community. This partnership takes them from unemployment (or underemployment) to economic self-sufficiency and fosters true wellness through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
